Ed Price is a writer and speaker.

Known for clarity and insight, Ed writes for Barron’s and the Financial Times and teaches political economy at New York University. He has also been published in the New Statesman and academic journals.

Ed provides commentary on the BBC, Bloomberg and CNBC as well as podcasts on geopolitics, economics and markets. Ed speaks regularly to professional and academic audiences and is often interviewed, including in the Washington Post. Three of his recent broadcast interviews received more than a million combined views on YouTube alone.

To inform his writing, Ed travels. In 2024, he looped the US by car and has explored the world from Uruguay to Ukraine. He teaches traditional jiujitsu in New York State. Ed’s on Twitter, BlueSky and also has a Substack page as well as his own YouTube channel.

Ed previously served as the Head of Economic Policy in the British Consulate General New York from 2017 to 2021. He was Principal for Geopolitical Forecasting at global intelligence firm Ergo and the first permanent representative of the City of London in the United States.

Ed has advised members of the European and British Parliaments. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International History from the London School of Economics two Master’s degrees from the University of London: an MSc in Finance and Economic Policy and an MA in German History.
